Find out if Google AI Mode recommends you

AI Mode gives longer answers to longer questions, with its own choice of sources. GoGetCited records what it says for your prompts in each market: the full answer, the brands it names and the pages it cites.

Google AI Mode is in beta in GoGetCited: it's off by default, and a check can sometimes come back empty. Empty checks don't count against your visibility.

How Google AI Mode answers

AI Mode is a separate mode in Google Search for questions that need a longer answer, with room for follow-up questions. Google says it breaks a question into subtopics and runs many related searches at once, the query fan-out technique, then writes an answer with links to the pages it found.

Those searches run on Google's index, so the same basics apply as for Search and AI Overviews: a page has to be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet to be used as a source. The pages AI Mode cites can differ from the AI Overview's for the same question.

How to get named by Google AI Mode

Answer the whole question

AI Mode splits a question into subtopics. A page that covers the main question and the natural follow-ups gives it more reasons to cite you.

Keep pages indexable

AI Mode draws on Google's index. Pages that are indexed and can show with a snippet are the ones it can use as sources.

Compare with the AI Overview

If the AI Overview names you and AI Mode doesn't, or the other way around, compare the pages each one cites to see what's missing.

Earn mentions in third-party sources

Reviews, comparison articles and community threads that AI Mode cites shape which brands it names. The Sources page lists them for your prompts.

Questions about Google AI Mode

How is AI Mode different from AI Overviews?

AI Overviews sit above the regular results for some searches. AI Mode is a separate, longer answer that people open on purpose. GoGetCited tracks both, so you can compare them for the same prompt.

How often is AI Mode checked?

On every daily check, or once a week to save cost, in all your markets or only some. AI Overviews keep running on every check either way.

What if AI Mode gives no answer in a market?

That check isn't counted as an answer, so it doesn't lower your visibility. Each prompt is asked from the market's country in its language, across 39 markets in 18 languages.
