When Google answers with an AI Overview, are you in it?
GoGetCited checks the AI Overview for every prompt you track, every day, in each of your markets. You get the full overview, the pages it cites, Google's organic top 10 for the same search, and a record of when no overview appears.

The full AI Overview
The whole overview, with your brand and competitors highlighted, and each brand's position and tone.
- 2
Cited pages and the organic top 10
Every page the overview links to, next to Google's organic top 10 for the same search, so you see which cited pages also rank and which don't.
- 3
When there's no AI Overview
Google doesn't show an overview for every search. We record when it doesn't, per market and day, so you know how often each prompt triggers one.
- 4
Every market, in its language
Each prompt is searched from the market's country, in the market's language, so you see the overview Google shows there.
How Google AI Overviews answers
AI Overviews appear above the regular results for some Google searches. Google generates them with a Gemini model customized for Search, working with its regular Search systems, and links to pages that support the summary. Google says AI Overviews may run several related searches across subtopics, a technique it calls query fan-out, to find those pages.
There's no separate sign-up or markup. Google's guidance is that a page has to be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet in Google Search to be used as a supporting link. Google also decides per search whether an overview is shown at all, so the same prompt can have one in one market and not in another.
How to get named by Google AI Overviews
Get the Google basics right
AI Overviews link to pages Google has indexed and can show with a snippet. Check indexing in Search Console, and keep noindex and nosnippet off the pages you want cited.
Cover the follow-up questions
Google may search related subtopics before writing an overview. A page that also answers the obvious next questions, like cost, options and who it suits, gives it more to cite.
Study the pages it cites
When the overview cites pages from outside the organic top 10, look at what they cover that yours doesn't. GoGetCited's briefs are built from the pages AI cites most.
Be mentioned on cited sites
If the overview cites a review site or forum thread instead of you, getting your brand mentioned there can get you named. Actions lists those sites for you.
Questions about Google AI Overviews
What happens when Google shows no AI Overview?
We record it, per market and day, and keep Google's organic top 10 for that search. It isn't counted as an answer, so it doesn't lower your visibility, and each prompt's page shows how often an overview appears.
Are AI Overviews included in every plan?
Yes. AI Overviews run on every prompt, in every market, on every check. Your plan decides which other AI engines you can add to a project.
Can I see the traffic AI Overviews send me?
Not separately. Clicks from AI Overviews and AI Mode arrive as ordinary Google visits, so GoGetCited's AI traffic report can't split them out. What you can track is how often the overview cites your pages.
